Up to 25 Actors compete in the UK's foremost free Actors showcase!! Actors perform in front of an industry panel of judges in 1 min, 3 min monologues as well as an audience influenced 2 min improv round for the prize of the "Ultimate Thesp"!! Its fast its furious and its fun!!!

Why we created the Monologueslam™ UK – Ultimate Actors Showcase!

Monologueslam™ UK competition events are a Goldrush Entertainment production that have been created to give actors an alternative outlet to display their talent to industry professionals, creating relationships and opportunities that will enrich and may possibly lead to furthering their careers. We also wanted to create a fun event for those of us who love theatre and performance and just want a fun night out!!!
This showcase event is about providing a FREE platform for actors to practice their craft and improve their performance skills. Our primary aim is to create an environment where actors can network and support each other but most importantly learn, learn, develop and BE COMPETITIVE. We feel that most actors in the UK can go 3-5 months without having an audition, which causes nerves and can affect your next audition. So by preparing for our event on the last Monday of every month we offer you the chance to treat it like a casting. Because lets face it to perform in front of any audience still requires the effort and discipline you would put in if you had a casting for the Royal Court or the BBC.

In our experience and in researching the relevance of this event we have come across many people who have been rather hesitant to participate. Our immediate response to that hesitation is that the event has been created particularly to counter that!!. It is our aim to remove that fear! To enable Actors to be ready for any casting because you have been performing at least once a month! We all know that the best time to land an acting job is either while you are acting in something or just after it. Do you agree? Imagine meeting a Director by chance and they asked you to perform a monologue on the spot and you couldn’t because you were scared or didn’t have one ready in your head ready to do…..Well that’s where our event comes in!? If you are constantly taking part in our events you will feel more confident and always have a monologue or two in your head ready to perform.

How does the night actually work?

Monologueslam™ is a competition!!!!

Round One- 1 Minute Smack down

This round is for  those who are still at the very early stages, perhaps in the first year of Drama school, or considering which Drama school to go to. A quick 1 minute prepared monologue, whom ever lays the ‘smack down’ the best will be awarded a prize pack and the 'Smack Down' title belt. The victor is requested to defend their title the following month. You can sign up by emailing us or show up, sign up, and perform.

Round Two- Bare-Knuckle Improv

Duellist will be given a line from the host, which they will to use and improvise a 2 minute monologue. This round is open to individuals and pairs, the champ(s) will be awarded a prize pack and the 'Bare-Knuckle' title belt, which is to be defended at next month’s match.

Round Three- Heavyweight Monologue

The name speaks for itself, these are your professionals or those about to graduate Drama school!! Contestants are given 3 minutes to perform a monologue of their choice. They are encouraged to bring props and costumes that compliment their performance. The victors of the round will become the reigning Heavy Weight Champ awarded with the title belt, which will be defended at the next match and a prize pack.
